The Ubuntu Women Project

The Ubuntu Women Project

Ubuntu-Women is the first step in trying to usher in change by increasing the visibility and contribution of women by providing mentoring and role models, and creating opportunities for collaboration with new and existing Ubuntu volunteers. We aim to provide an opportunity for women who want to be involved in the Ubuntu community thereby increasing diversity in Ubuntu-Linux.

March 2010 - Current Month

March 24, 2010  - Ada Lovelace Day - On Ada Lovelace Day, the members of the Ubuntu Women Project will be encouraging you to blog about the achievements of women in technology and science. Also, if there are women within the Ubuntu Community who's achievements have inspired you or others we are asking you to tell the world about their achievements and contributions to the Ubuntu Project and Community.
If you haven't done so already please visit the Finding Ada website and make your pledge to Blog on March 24th.

March 26-28, 2010 - Ubuntu Global Jam - Since the UW Project Members are not in one geographical region, we are proposing that team members participate in a virtual Global Jam.  Many people have already stated that they would log-in to the channel from their Local Global Jams.
